The following are some pictures taken during the campaign of June, 1995, in which my crew (Peter Spotts, Marcy Howe, and myself) occupied Mt. Goodnow, Mt. Kempshal, and Mt. Vandewacker on successive overnights.

Mt. Goodnow

Mt. Goodnow was an easy climb up a well marked and well maintained trail. In fact, I forgot a piece of equipment and did the ascent twice (not many sites are so forgiving!). Here are a few pictures from the top:

Mt. Kempshal

Mt. Kempshal was a much more difficult climb, as we decided to try to bushwack our way up from the eastern side of the mountain. We were all completely exhausted by the time we got to the top, but at least there was a clearing which made for reasonable camping.

Mt. Vandewacker

Mt. Vandwacker was a welcome relief after Kempshal, but there were a fair amount of bugs up at the top. The benchmark was not in a place from which reasonable GPS could be done so we made a temporary scratch in the outcrop and waited for the tie-in group to survey it in later.
