Other stations were occupied for one or two sessions, each of 7-12 hours. The larger triangles show stations that were also occupied by GPS in 1992 and whose positions have been determined by NGS from the 1992 data. The background to the plot shows the average elevation in 5 minute "squares", ranging from near sea level to 1000 m. This is represented as blue through green and brown to white in the color version. In the gray-scale version elevation information is lost but the Adirondack dome stands out, with the Lake Champlain and Hudson valleys running N-S along the New York-Vermont state line to its east.
